It started with a threat of rain and then a down pour of rain, but that could not put a damper on this beautiful wedding. The wedding was located at Pine Lake just outside of Oneonta, NY. It is an environmental campus for Hartwick College. Both my bride, Megan and her groom, Emil graduated from there. What a wonderful place to have a wedding. Beautiful nature, custom cabins and a lake were the perfect backdrop for their special day. I met Megan and her bridesmaids in the Strawbale House. It was designed and built by students enrolled at Hartwick. Here I photographed her amazing wedding gown and bridal veil that she made. What!!! Megan, you are amazing. As she finished up and was ready to go down to the lake for the "First Look" the skies opened and it down poured. I have never met such a cool and calm bride. We waited about 15 minutes for it to clear and then off to the lake to meet with Emil. It was still raining alittle but they were troopers. If you look carefully, you can see the rain drops. It was so special to see the love that Megan and Emil share. I have photographed a number of first looks but this ranks among the top. Take a look at the photos and you too can see how they feel about each other. The ceremony was held under the pavilion while the guests watched. It was officiated by a friend. Once the rings were placed on fingers and a giggle filled walk down the aisle, it was time for the reception. Good friends from New Orleans bought them a double seated bike. How cute! The evening was filled with great food, a beautiful cake and lots of CONTRA dancing. Emil and Megan, we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
