On a beautiful sunny day, Sam and Geri celebrated their wedding day at the Normanside Country Club located in Delmar, New York. They are such a wonderful couple - relaxed, full of fun and ready to enjoy their wedding. I loved that they opted to have the First Look photo session before the ceremony. For those that do not know what this is, it's a period of time, generally an hour or two before the wedding in which the couple go to a selected location and have their wedding portraits done. As a photographer, I have them face away from each other. Then when I say "look at each other" they turn and see each other for the first time on their wedding day. I am able to get the expression and emotion on their faces. I capture the true love they feel for each other. I ADORE THIS! There are many reasons that the bridal couple choose to have this session. But to me, the best reason is that it frees the couple up to attend their reception. The most important photos of the bride and groom are completed before the reception. I have been a guest at weddings where we waited 1-2 hours for the bride and groom to return from having their pictures taken after the ceremony. Believe me, your invited guests do not want to wait to eat, dance and celebrate at your reception. So, if there is any advice I can offer as a photographer, consider the First Look Photo Session.
