When people ask me what is your favorite type of photography, it has to be black and white portraiture. These photos stand up to the test of time. Looking back at the wonderful black and whites of the 40s 50s and 60s you can feel the mood and become interested in not only what the individual may be thinking but also what the photographer is trying to capture. My first gallery showing was of black and white portraiture. That was over ten years ago. Boy time flies. Since the great snowstorm, Stella dumped about three feet of snow on us, I took the time to review some of my work and thought it might be interesting to post it. Oh in case you are wondering about the last image since it is so different from the rest, he was a bull rider who lost his eye in an accident. I loved his bravery and tattoos.
